In Marseillan and around
Marseillan is a small fishing port, preserved and authentic, situated on the banks of the étang de Thau. It is at the start/finish of the World Heritage acclaimed Canal du Midi. Famous for the oysters farming, the village is large enough to be a lively and vibrant place, with a wide selection of excellent cafés, bars and restaurants. You will enjoy the weekly street-market, the numerous open-air events and shows, or a ferry-boat trip on the lake. You will also be able to spend a night at the theater or visit the famous Maison Noilly Prat where is elaborated the famous french vermouth. All the bars, restaurants and activities are at walking distance from our house.
Within minutes you can find yourself enjoying a picnic amongst chateaux and vineyards; strolling along the canal du Midi; relaxing on the beach; cruising past oyster-beds on the étang de thau; visiting the city of Sète, with its covered market and the historic local towns of Pézenas, St-Guilhem-le-désert, etc… with their markets, antiques, galleries and shops.
